Tutorial: How To Get Any Fog Color You Want

Post by Dazzle »

There are always a few posts asking how to get different colored fogs so I made this simple tutorial on the method that I have found to be very effective and is what I always use to create fog colors in my mods.

At the end of this tutorial you will find a list of common fog colors (Thanks to CB for the list), however you can actually get whatever fog color you want.

The easiest way to do this is to use a graphics program like PhotoShop or Gimp. Select a color and use the program to get the RGB numbers of your selected color;

For example a swampy type green like this:

Image

Would give RGB numbers of:

R= 7

G= 142

B= 17

This is a screenshot of PhotoShop showing the swampy green color and the RGB numbers

Once you have the RGB numbers for the color you want go to the RGB Convertor on the Scriptline website:

http://www.freewebs.com/scriptline/SLConvertor.html

Then enter the RGB numbers into the 3 corresponding boxes at the top of the converter and hit the go button. The converter will calculate the numbers you need to generate the swampy green color.

Like this:

So the actual numbers you would use in your mission file to give you a swampy green fog as shown above would be:

0.027450499999999996 0.5568529999999999 0.06666549999999999

This method only takes a minute to do but by using it you can basically get whatever color you want.

I hope this tutorial helps out those who are interested, so lets see some crazy fog colors :tankerbravo:
