Mod Wizard

Post by Warfare »

About it...

I know it's got a few bugs, I know it needs work.
Shush.

I am fixing it. Hold your horses.

I have other projects to work on, unrelated to video games entirely. When I have spare time I am working on getting a newer version out, along with fixing my poor website. (And no, I did not spill any beer on my server. :tankertongue: )
In the meantime you can download it here.

If you wouldn't mind, use this thread to post bugs, errors, flaws etc that need to be fixed, and suggestions for more/better features.

^^ TYF you are in China right? perhaps that is why you cannot access a lot of the websites posted in these forums, I believe that the ISP's in your country restrict access and downloads from sites outside of China.

Hi War :)

Just a few things I have noticed with Mod wiz for your list::

1. Spawn points are not directional. When you place a spawn point the tank does not spawn in the same direction of the tank as when placed.

2. The T & G for raise and lower does not seem to work correctly. It nudges the object the same distance no matter if set to small medium or large. I used you modwiz for quite a lot of CTF and had to change nudge settings to :

$Modder::SmallNudgeSize = 0.25;
$Modder::MediumNudgeSize = 0.5;
$Modder::LargeNudgeSize = 1;

But all seemed to move the same amount 0.25

I think there is a similar issue with the radius, but the standard radius settings are to big, I will see what i have set and post later.

3. I could never get the add extra shape thing to work. For example I used:

$Modder::ExtraShapePath[0] = "game/data/shapes/Instant_Action/Green/Fern_Full01.dts";
$Modder::MakeExtraShape[0] = "Ctrl f";

But would not add shape :(
Not sure about the add custom power up as i never tried it.

4. When I tried to add a CTF goal I would get kicked from the server saying I did not have the correct artwork etc etc. But if I immediately rejoined the server it worked, weird.

5. One thing that maybe worth considering as an addon is gametime. When modding sometimes 15 mins is not long enough so I agged the gametime script and exec from the modwiz main.cs. Obviously this needs to be turned off if running a server from the same computer as used for modwiz, not sure how that would work but worth mentioning.

So just a few points I have picked up using your modwiz, hope that helps :thumbup:

Ok daz, thanks a bunch for that. :tankerwinks:

I'm sure you're not the only one with issues or suggestions though, so where is everyone else?

Modwizard is platform independent. So yes, there is a mac version. Just happens to also be the linux and windows version.

Thank you! I've been looking for this for a while and have since found it.

Great work. Just used it on my newest mod.
