I think this actually goes in the Skinning section, but wait don't post another thread there. We ll need to get this one moved...
As far as I can tell, I am not a Skinner, it is usually done by a Graphics artist. Some do Banners on request, some don't
But they make banners (in most cases) with one of these 2 programs:
Photoshop CS3 (or previous versions
The GIMP (freeware)

A banner is made when you piss a moderator or an admin off. They lose all sense of time and reason and go completely and utterly bezerk. Thus, a banner is born.
Banners are creatures to be reckoned with, as they determine your everlasting status on whatever they control, and the effects of their actions may very well be permanent.
The main method a banner has of coping with the overwhelming banning sense that is changing there lives as they know it is the banstick.
The banstick comes in many different shapes and sizes, but all are deadly. Get touched by a banstick, and you will forever be scarred. Be beaten by a banstick and no reconstructive surgery will ever repair your tarnished reputation.
Remember, do not create a banner and you will never have to witness the wrath of a banner with a banstick.
