Hey people, it's been a long time.
College over the past 4 years stemmed my involvement in playing and map making. I've slid away from modding ThinkTanks since getting my "new" computer last summer (can't be bothered re-re-reinstalling TGE). I got the Orange Box on the PC at Christmas and have been hooked on Team Fortress 2 since. I thought maybe a PSL would get me involved again, but my being sidelined this past season pushed me completely away from TT.
It's only now, getting irritated with TF2 shenanigans that I'm thinking of playing TT again... but I haven't seen anyone in the servers. The mods are old and stale, the once "regular" crowd is not on when I thought they'd be on, and I'm wondering what the heck's happened in my absence.
My life's been crazy awesome over the past 2 years... I'm actually pursuing a career in voice acting, and I've had the world premier of a musical composition I wrote. A shame that it seems everyone's gone when I come back for a bit. Are people only playing for PSL/TBML? Is Roo finally retired? Has Dazzle finished those damn maps yet?

Hey Feathers...
I haven't played in months...
I was totally addicted to the game, but can't afford to spend hours a week playing TT.
Got my priorities in order with my family, my business etc.
I really do miss the games and all the peeps, I shall return when the time is right. Will have to limit myself to couple of times per week etc.

Re: Game state
I used to be SO hooked on this game. I guess I've finally entered the "still like it but can go for days not playing phase."
There's still fun to be had in the game... and less than before on these boards.
It is what it is. Cyas in TBML...

Re: Game state
Right there is why I still like playing this game. It's something that I enjoy but I don't feel deprived if I don't play it for a month or two.LGM wrote: I guess I've finally entered the "still like it but can go for days not playing phase."
Other online games I find myself losing too much time that I could be spending with my family, other hobbies or catching up on sleep.
15 minute full games is also a very large plus. Long enough that the ebb and flow of the game can change. Short enough that you can hop in for one game while the steaks are defrosting in the microwave.
I'm just glad that GG has kept the master server up for all of this time.
