Master Server

It seems like the master server has been going down a lot on weekends lately. It almost seems like Garage Games is slowly giving us the boot. Phobik used to have his own master server which is still set as a back-up in my scripts. But it seems he isn't around these days.
The only other alternative when the master is down is to use the ip joiner. But I don't think people are using this, because I never see anyone else when I join a game.
Does anyone know how to build a master server so we could have a back-up?

The master server has been running a very long time now and went down last week and came back on its own. This week may be different and may need a manual restart. That should happen Monday or not long after. It ran solid and restarted itself for months straight. Relax. Ya might want to share your ip joiner file so others can at least get into a server.
They bought their tickets, they knew what they were getting into. I say, let 'em crash.

Well it was the third time in the last few weeks...but I'm relaxing :thumbup: Not quite sure what you mean by sharing the ip joiner file. I assume it's still around here somewhere for download. Unless you mean my saved servers file?

In Think Tanks /game/client/scripts folder there is a folder called IPJoiner. Inside that is the IpJoinerPreferences.cs file where you need to update the server's ip's and port number. I have updated mine on the list below. There is a IPJoiner thread for updates but was back when we had many more players.
As for the server going down on weekends, I guess since they are now running it along side there current Torque servers we will have to put up with some down time for maintenance or whatever. It was up steady for a couple months weekends included.

Ok, thanks CB. Just a reminder to people with v3 of ip joiner, the easiest way to save servers is to use alt+p when in a server you want to save. The hardest thing is trying to remember to do that once in awhile. Or you can forget to do it for a long time, like me, and have an out-dated list which doesn't work. :( This is my new list ( just CB's and Dazzles TBM servers ):
